How do we use cookies?

We use permanent cookies to store our home page and your personal details, if you select “Remember me” when you log in to the website. We shall use cookies to save your favourite products, and mainly to deliver to the user services provided through electronic channels and to improve the quality of such services. In this relation, SEREINE and other entities that provide analytic and statistic services use cookies to store information or to obtain access to the information already stored in the user’s telecommunications terminal equipment (PC, phone, tablet, etc.).

Cookies used for this purpose comprise:

a) cookies with data inserted by the user (session ID) for the duration of the session;

b) multimedia player session cookies (e.g. flash cookies), for the duration of the session;

c) user interface customization cookies for the duration of the session or slightly longer. We use session cookies, for instance, when you use the product filter feature, to check if you logged in or if you added an item to the shopping cart.

We use own and third-party cookies to collect statistics and user data, in aggregate as well as individual format, from analysis tools, to optimize our website and provide you with relevant marketing material.

Some third-party cookies have been set up by services that appear on our webpages and are beyond our control. These have been set up by our social media providers such as Twitter, Facebook and Vimeo and are relating to the users’ ability to share content on this website, as indicated by the relevant icon.

We also use third-party cookies to monitor the activity of a number of websites to offer you marketing on other websites/outlets. These cookies are therefore only activated if the user consents to the storage by giving consent in the cookies checkbox on the website.

The setting selected during the first visit in response to a cookie notification (pop-up) will be saved. Settings can be adjusted in privacy settings at any time. SEREINE uses the First Party Cookies for the following purposes:

a. The website configuration and performance of processes necessary for the full functionality of the online store - recognition of the device and correct display of the website as adjusted to its individual needs; storage of data necessary to use the online store,

b. The website visit analysis and studies - creation of anonymous statistics to help understand how the online store users use the service in order to improve the online store’s structure, content and functionalities,

c. Safety assurance for the online store. Each website user should ensure the safety of his or her devices used to access the Internet. Such a device should have anti-virus software with an up-to-date base of virus definitions, an up-to-date and safe version of the web browser and an active firewall.

Furthermore, the user should regularly check whether or not the operating system and the installed software programmes are in their latest update versions since in case of potential attack it is the errors or gaps detected in the software installed that will be used. Software manufacturers try to eliminate such risks by distributing updates.

The use of cookies to collect data for marketing purposes or for purposes other than those necessary to display the web pages, including to obtain access to the data stored on the user's device, shall require consent from the user. The consent may be withdrawn at any time.
